
Ghana produced a disciplined defensive display to earn a valuable 0-0 draw against England in their Group L World Cup clash at Boston Stadium.
The Black Stars frustrated Thomas Tuchel’s side throughout the contest, denying England the chance to secure an early place in the last 32.
Despite facing one of the tournament favourites, Ghana remained organised at the back and threatened on the counter-attack whenever opportunities arose. England struggled to break down the resilient African side and did not register a shot on target until the 57th minute.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare played a key role for Ghana, making an important save to deny Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal winger came off the bench in the second half.
England pushed for a winner late on, with substitute Nico O’Reilly heading against the crossbar and Marc Guehi seeing a header cleared off the line, but Ghana stood firm to claim a deserved point.
The result keeps Ghana firmly in contention for a place in the World Cup knockout stage, while England remain top of Group L and must now secure qualification in their final group match against Panama.
