A Gombe State Governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party, Alhaji Ahmed Modibo Wali has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to closely monitor the activities of aspirants into different positions in the forthcoming elections.

Ahmed Modibo made the call during a press conference and said the call is intended to check the financial excesses of politicians who deceive the electorates with money at the end of the day.
He said the electorates on the other hand must be wary of the kind of politicians they elect to represent them at any level.
According to him, the people must not look at the money that they are being given, but what tangible projects or service the persons have provided for the people.
He also condemned the spate of defections that has characterized the political landscape in recent time describing it as a betrayal of the electorates.
He equally advised politicians to try and understand their differences and then pursue their ambitions with the interest and benefit of the country.
He described his party as a national party with the interest of Nigerians contrary to speculations that it is a regional party restricted solely to the South East.
“APGA is not an Igbo party, it has elected positions in different parts of the country including the North, particularly, Taraba, Niger, Nassarawa States and Abuja,” he stressed.
