Gombe Police charge 77 year old for defiling 12 year old

The Gombe State Police Command says it will soon charge to court a seventy-seven (77) year old man, Abubakar Jauro of Bolari Quarters of Gombe metropolis for having canal knowledge of a twelve (12) year old girl.

A press release signed and made available to newsmen by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Obed Mary Mallum (DSP), said the command under the new Police Commissioner, Shina Tairu Olukolu is poised to strive to serve the public better.

The release expressed happiness that barely two weeks after resuming office as CP in the State, the public have heeded to his appeal of divulging information to the Police which resulted in the arrest of four armed robbers and a dreaded kidnapper in the State.

According to the statement, “He is happy to note that his appeal has begun to bear fruits. The under-listed criminal elements, who have confessed to their crimes, were arrested as a resulted of the proactive measures of the Police and cooperation of members of the public. The suspects who specialize in terrorizing Bojude, Ashaka, Nafada and Dukku axis of the State are cooling their heels in Police custody”.

The gang of armed robbers arrested were; Musa Usman alias Sarki of Kurbagel Village in Nafada LGA, who is the gang leader, Gidado Adamu and Bappah Mohammed of Gwangiro, Bajoga, Funakaye LGA and Bello Bubam of Zadawa, Funakaye LGA all of Gombe State. Exhibits recovered from them included two locally made pistols, iron rod, one axe and a stick.

The Police also said that following an intelligence surveillance operation, the Command arrested one Umaru Mohammed alias Juma Bala’i of Local Gona, Akko LGA of the State who is a notorious kidnapper that has been on the police wanted list at various commands in the north.

Umaru Mohammed has been on the wanted list of the Police in Adamawa, Kaduna, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara States. Exhibits recovered from him were two matchets and one sim card he uses to threaten his victims. All the suspects have confessed to their crimes and would be arraigned in court.
