Gombe State Government has said it would soon engage in fertilizer blending business in a deliberate effort aimed at boosting agricultural and economic activities of the state.
This decision was taken at the State Executive Council meeting following the approval of a memorandum that sought the state’s participation in the Federal Government’s Special Fertilizer Intervention.
Addressing the press after the meeting, the State’s Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ahmed Sulaiman said part of the condition for the commencement of the project include, expression of interest, provision of irrevocable standing order as well as provision of approval by the State Executive Council and the Legislature.
Also, the Executive Council has resolved to transfer the State’s School of Health from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Higher Education following the change of status of the institution to a Collage of Health.
Sulaiman explained further that the two memorandums that were deliberated upon and approved by the Council were brought by the commissioners of the respective ministries.
