Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku has commissioned new CTC machines (Cut, Tear and Curl) at the Mambila Beverages Nigeria Limited, makers of High Land Tea.
Since the establishment of the Tea Garden 30 years ago the machines used for the manufacturing/production of the Tea were LTP (Laurie’s Tea Processor) which was said to be of Low productivity.
Addressing the crowd that gathered to witness the commissioning of the newly installed machinesat the Kakara factory in Sadauna local government, the governor promised to train four staff of the company in Kenya so as to enhance faster productivity.
The governor’s promise to train the four staff was in compliance with the earlier request by the management of the company on staff training.
The staff are to be trained on technical maintenance of the company’s equipments and production of the Tea. Ishaku said his administration would continue to give support to the High Land Tea since the company was capable of producing at least 5% of the income of Nigeria.
Ishaku further said that Taraba state has engaged consultants for construction of Tunga Dam face II, the Dam would supply electricity to the Tea factory and its environs. The governor frowned at the change in the packaging of High Land Tea pocket by the management, he ordered the company to reverse the packaging of the Tea to its normal colour.
