Gov. Wike berates Rivers APC for misinforming Acting President; Osinbajo confirms Wike ‘Mr Projects;’ Departs Rivers after visit

The governor lauded Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for setting the record straight when he proclaimed the APC slogan and explained that he was at the Tuesday event to meet his Rivers APC family.
Addressing former Ndoni APC Members led by Chief Ofili Enebeli after their defection to PDP in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the governor declared that the successful official engagements of the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to Rivers State sent shivers down the spine of political mischief makers spreading false stories about the state, hence they resorted to their usual desperate anti-Rivers politics.
He said: “Satan will never sleep. Satan will always be at work. Satan always wants to turn light into darkness.
“When we held the stakeholders meeting, even the Minister of Transportation was there. But as you know, a chameleon will always be a chameleon. When you see agents of Lucifer you will know.
“Just because the Acting President slept in Rivers State and went round our projects, then confirmed that this man is Mr Projects, they suddenly became troubled “.
He added: ” Agents of Lucifer in trying to cause confusion, persuaded the Acting President that there will be need for him to talk to APC Members. I have no problems with that. Mr Acting President is a member of the APC. But governance is governance. When they got there, they renamed the APC meeting as stakeholders meeting. Shame, shame.
“It was not Rivers Stakeholders meeting and it couldn’t have been.”
The governor said that it was shocking that the Minister of Transportation and his associates questioned the award of “Apostle of Peace ” conferred on him by the Rivers CAN when they simply divided the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) when they had the opportunity. He explained that he remains a man of peace who will never divide families.
He noted that he is focused on the delivery of projects, as he has totally shocked the leaders of Rivers APC into oblivion.
The governor said that he will continue to play mature politics, unlike the era of Rotimi Amaechi when he repeatedly desecrated the office of the President, refusing to accord Dr. Goodluck Jonathan the respect due his office.
He pointed out that he accorded the Acting President of Nigeria all the respect due to his office because the state believes governance transcends partisan politics.
Earlier, Rivers State PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah noted that the APC leader of Ndoni, Chief Ofili Enebeli defected to the PDP because of the outstanding performance of Governor Wike.
In his remarks, Chief Enebeli praised Governor Wike for his exemplary leadership.
Over 1000 APC members from Ndoni of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA defected to the PDP alongside their leaders.
Meanwhile, Acting President Osinbajo has declared that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike deserves the appellation of “Mr Projects ” because of his high profile projects across the state.
Speaking at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday night during the State Dinner organised in his honour, Professor Osinbajo said he was impressed by the project sites he visited.
He said: “I think he deserves the title: ‘Mr Projects ‘. He is indeed Mr Projects. As we came in today, we had to visit some project sites”.
He noted that the visit to Rivers State was critical because of the position of the state in the country.
“Rivers State is very important to us. We take matters concerning the state seriously. We will cooperate with Rivers State to develop Nigeria.
“It is in the interest of our people and nation, that we work together for the good of our people. We need to get together to chart the pathway of growth “, the Acting President said.
In his address, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike said that the state government will cooperate with the Federal Government to deliver development to the people.
He said the issues of development should not be politicised, because the people look up to different tiers of government for empowerment and projects.
He said: “I believe that the visit of the Acting President will bring good relationship between the Federal Government and Rivers State.
“Let us allow the interest of the majority in whatever we do. Party must take the back seat. The interest of Rivers State is paramount . That is why we are doing everything we can to cooperate with the Federal Government because we believe in the unity of this nation ”
He explained that Rivers State is a state that the Federal Government needs to partner with, to consolidate the development process.
The state dinner for the Acting President witnessed cultural dances, comedy, toasts for Nigeria and Rivers State.
On Tuesday morning, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, former Rivers State Governor, Sir Celestine Omehia, Minister of Niger Delta, Pastor Usani Usani, Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Authority, Nsima Ekere, former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva, Rivers Elders and members of the Rivers State Executive Council took part in the airport farewell formalities for the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
