A statement signed by the Commissioner of Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George said Governor Wike would commission Borikiri New Road, Industry Road and Njemanze-Abonnema Wharf Road on Wednesday, May 25. This, he said, would be followed by the flag-off of the Ecumenical Centre and the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park later in the day.
Dr. Tam-George said on Thursday, May 26, the Governor would commission the Rumukurushi-Eneka-Igwuruta Road and the Eleme Water Project while the flag-off of the Sakpenwa-Bori Road would conclude activities for the day.
He pointed out that the commissioning of Rumueprikom-Rumuolumeni Road, Eliaparanwo Road and Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority Headquarters would take place on Friday, May 27 while the day’s activities would be rounded off with the flag- off of the Tam David-West Boulevard.
Former Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo’s Testimonial Match will also hold on May 27. The event which will attract former Super Eagles Stars like Austin Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo will also have current stars, Mikel Obi and Ahmed Musa in attendance.
According to him, Saturday, May 28 would witness the commissioning of Azikiwe Street, Bishop Okoye Street, Eliozu-Rumunduru-Elimgbu-Oroigwe Road, Rukpokwu-Eneka Road, Nelson Mandela (SARS) Road and Rumuagholu Road.
The Commissioner stated that a Thanksgiving Service would hold on Sunday, May 29 at the Catholic Institute of West Africa(CIWA) at 10a.m and would be followed by a Luncheon later in the day.
Dr. Tam-George added that events marking the anniversary would be rounded off on Monday, May 30 with a Town Hall Meeting with Stakeholders at Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre at 10a.m and a dinner at the Banquet Hall, Government House at 7p.m.
He enjoined the people of the State to give the Governor and his entourage a rousing reception at the project sites as a show of appreciation for his determination to develop all parts of the State.
