AGENE GODWIN, Benin
Apparently worried by what he described as unwarranted criticism of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led Federal Government, a chieftain of the APC in Edo state, Honorable Charles Idahosa Thursday, took a swipe at the Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose describing him as a ‘fraud star’.
Idahosa, who said this while speaking with newsmen in Benin city, stressed that the governor’s regular attacks on the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was merely to whip up sentiments among the general public.
He added that the Ekiti state helmsman was only biting more than he can chew, knowing that his sins will soon catch up with him..
Idahosa, who is the political adviser to the Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and who is popularly referred to as Charlie Tempo also disclosed that his support for the governor concerning the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming APC governorship primaries is unshaking. He, however, assured that the process will be free and fair for all aspirants.
According to him “Its just a pity that Nigerians tend to forget too fast their history. Fayose was based in London where he made money to come home and contest an election. Fayose knows that he is in a mess.
“I am always shocked when people take Fayose seriously. This regular attack on Buhari, he knows is to prepare ground because he knows he will go down. All that he is doing is to whip up public sentiments so that when his sins catch up with him, people will be saying this or that, that it’s because he is always attacking the government that’s why this is happening to him. Is he the publicity secretary or spokesman of the PDP?”.
“I hear people talk about the governor (Oshiomhole) adopting Godwin Obaseki and I tell you there is nothing wrong in that. I am in support of the candidate, my support for him is based on the conviction that he can do well.
“Being a governor has become a complex, scientific issue. It has gone beyond the era of going to Abuja for allocation. Governor Oshiomhole’s preference for Obaseki is right because he is the right person equipped to pilot the affairs of the state.”
