Imo Govt directs group to register with APC

Chief of Staff, Imo State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu, has urged members of the Destiny Organization in Owerri North local government area of the state to register with the All Progressives Congress (APC) so as to enjoy the same benefits enjoyed by bonafide members of the party.

Sir Ejiogu gave this directive while addressing members of the Destiny Organization, Owerri North Chapter who paid him a courtesy visit at his Umuakuru Emekuku home town, led by the Coordinator, Mr. Peter Benson.

The Chief of Staff, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ikenna Onuoha, while describing the last minute support of the organization to the APC and the visit as a homecoming, also charged the group to continue to remain steadfast in ensuring the cooperation of members in the LGA, and affirmed the visit as a moral boost.

“I want to use this medium to assure every member of this noble organization that as the Apex Leader of Owerri Federal Constituency, everybody will be carried along without discrimination. Our government will remember and recognize your presence. This unity you have initiated is for good and we must sustain it. You have remained consistent as a member of Destiny Organization, and we want you to show the same gesture in our great party, the APC,” Ejiogu said.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Coordinator of Destiny Organization in Owerri North LGA, Mr. Peter Benson said that their decision to support candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Owelle Rochas Okorocha in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state was as a result of the organization’s believe for fairness, which according to him was devoid of deceit.

Benson recalled the humiliation members of the organization passed through due to the desperation inherent amongst members of the Peoples Democratic Party, describing their former party as a platform that lacked good conduct and due process.

In their separate speeches, former Chairman of Owerri North LGA, Chief Austin Achilike, Paddy Obinna, Victor Ekeanyanwu and Onyewuchi Opigwe commended the Chief of Staff for attracting massive construction and rehabilitation of their roads, as well as other relevant projects, appealing to other leaders to emulate him.

Meanwhile, Sir Ejiogu has charged All Progressive Congress (APC) members in Owerri North council area and the entire Owerri Federal Constituency to be hardworking and remain patience if their interest was to achieve the objectives of the party in the area, describing their corporation so far as commendable.

Sir Ejiogu made this appeal while receiving Awaka / Ihitta Ward APC leaders who paid him a courtesy visit at his home town, Umuakuru Emekuku to thank him for all his financial and moral supports during and after the just concluded 2015 general elections in the state which they said, necessitated the victory of the party in the area.

The Chief of Staff expressed joy that the people of the Ward resisted every form of inducement to buy them over in a bid to truncate the wishes of the masses, pointing out that they demonstrated high level of commitment by voting massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the gesture as evidence of trust and dedication.

He advised the leadership of APC in Awaka/Ihitta Ward not to discriminate against any person willing to join the party, pointing out that everyone should be given a level playing field as to achieve the objectives of the party.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Chairman of APC in Awaka/Ihitta Ward, Owerri North, Mr. Chidiebere Iwueke said that his people voted massively for the All Progressives Congress because of the giant strides Sir Ejiogu has recorded within the period he has stayed in government, pointing out that a good number of people from his ward were appointed into prominent positions in the rescue mission administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Contributing separately, APC Vice Chairman of the Ward, Chief Ben Ejiogu, Woman Leader, Chief (Mrs.) Pretty Emezi and Secretary of the party, Tochi Enwere commended the Chief of Staff for his courage in bringing everybody together without minding party differences, maintaining that if PDP leaders had done the same without allowing greed to overshadow their political linens, the entire Owerri North and the constituency would have been developed beyond its present condition.
