Indimi Foundation to construct 200 housing units for Borno IDPs

A business mogul, Alhaji Muhammadu  Indimi, through Muhammadu Indimi Foundation (MIF) is to build 200 units of 3 bedroom houses for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bama and Ngala local Government areas of Borno state.
Speaking at the flagging off ceremony of the 100 Housing units for Bama IDPs at the Government House Maiduguri, the Chairman of the Foundation Dr. Mohammed Indimi said : “Muhammadu Indimi Village Bama, is one of the many steps we have taken in contributing to building better lives for our people”.
He said “the Foundation was established to address the need for quality education, healthcare, food and shelter; provision of relief materials in crisis situations and creation of jobs, especially for the teeming youths.”
He said the Boko Haram activities have left millions of IDPs displaced and in dire need of food and shelter, pointing out that through modest activities and initiatives, the Foundation has contributed in alleviating poverty in communities and unlocking Northern Nigeria’s potential.
“Muhammadu Indimi Village Bama, is one of the many steps we have taken in contributing to building better lives for our people”, the business mogul added.
He said “the village consisting of 100 units of 3- room houses will also include school, mosque, clinic and market.The Foundation is also set to build another 100 units of 3- room houses for IDPs in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of the state”.
“I therefore commended the unflinching support to governor Shettima and Government of Borno state for donating the land for the housing projects in Bama and Ngala. In the last two years, we have contributed to the relief funds for IDPs in Borno by providing food items and financial packages to families and host communities”, he added.
“We have also created an annual scholarship scheme, which so far has facilitated the admission of students from the state on full scholarship into the International University of Africa, Sudan,” Indimi said.
The chairman of the Foundation said “ just last year I offered scholarship to 500 students to study various courses in the International African University, Sudan  which happened to be one of the board of Director representing Africa”.
“Just last year I offered scholarship to 27 students in Borno, 61 in Kano, while we are going to give 2o students each scholarships in Adamawa, Yobe and Jigawa states,” he said.
He therefore called on philantrophic organizations and individuals to assist Borno state in its reconstruction and rebuilding of communities destroyed by insurgents
While flagging off the ceremony, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state extolled the qualities of the Chairman of Muhammadu Indimi Foundation who is not only an international Business Mogul, but a sympathetic philantrophist who has committed his resources to the needy.
Shettima pointed out the the choice of Bama to benefit is because, it is the worst hit in all the crisis, adding that the choice of Ngala by the foundation, was appropriate because, he Indimi cut his business teeth in Ngala.
He commended the Chairman if MIF for the gesture, as according to him, government is fully committed to ensure safe return of IDPs back to their liberated communities.
