Following reports of his death on some social media platforms, two-time chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Anthony Anenih, spoke out Wednesday, from the United Kingdom, as he berated those spreading such rumours about his death.
Anenih who personally spoke to news men in Benin said: “Thank God i am hale and healthy. I have not visited hospital. I am speaking to you personally. I don’t know where those people got their information from.”
The Uromi-born politician continued: “God has extended my life span beyond their expectation and He will still extend my life span beyond what I also expected.”
Consequently in a statement signed by Chris Osa Nehikhare, Publicity Secretary of the party in Edo State, said: “Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, hereby dispels the rumoured death of our National Leader, Chief Tony Anenih.
“We wish to inform the general public, especially our teeming supporters in Nigeria and Edo State in particular, that Chief Tony Anenih is alive, hale and hearty and will return to Nigeria on Sunday after a brief visit to the United Kingdom. Please disregard all the media propaganda currently going on.”
