Lawmaker fulfills electoral promises, rehabilitates roads

The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial district of Edo state, Senator Francis Alimikhena, has flagged off an emergency rehabilitation of 450million Ugbeno-Ayogwiri-Fugar-Agenebode road.
Senator Alimikhena of the All Peoples Congress, APC, who is the Senate Deputy Majority Whip, said the repairs of the seven kilometers road was in fulfilment of his electoral promises.
He said the repairs would reduce challenges faced by motorists and commuters on the road which connects two local government Areas.
He however advised the people of the communities to give contractors handling the project the maximum support to ensure timely completion of the work.
 “We must rebuild and modernise Edo north to compete with other senatorial districts in the country. It is my expectation that the contractors would deliver quality work and complete the projects on schedule,” he said.
On his part, the contractor handling the project, Shifodunrin Ayodele, assured that the rehabilitation of the road would be completed within 21 days.
According to him, all the necessary equipment for the work are already on site,  appealing for  the cooperation of the host communities to meet the target date.
A resident of the area, Mohammed Ahmed commended the senator for initiating the project which he said would impact positively on the socio-economic well-being of the people of the area.
