The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced February 26, 2026, as the final deadline for registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement on Wednesday, JAMB spokesperson Dr Fabian Benjamin said the sale of e-PINs will end at 12:00 midnight on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He added that registration at accredited centres for candidates who already have their e-PINs will close on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Dr Benjamin revealed that more than 1.5 million candidates had registered for the examination as of Tuesday. “This indicates that a significant number of prospective candidates are yet to take advantage of the opportunity to register,” he said.
He urged candidates not to wait until the last minute. “Candidates are therefore strongly advised to obtain their e-PINs before the vending deadline and proceed immediately to accredited centers to complete their registration. Waiting until the last few days may result in avoidable challenges, and the Board will not entertain any appeals for extension after the deadline,” the statement read.
