
Crump, a woman of many firsts, including the first Black woman to serve on the Newark City Council, who was a strong supporter of Africa, Africans and Africans in Diaspora, as well as a committed leader of her community and humanity as a whole, will be interred at the Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
Her interment will be preceded by a Homegoing Celebration Service same Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10:00 am, at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 149 Springfield Avenue, Newark, NJ 07103.
Today, Friday, December 13, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, there will be Visitation/Wake at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 149 Springfield Avenue, Newark, New Jersey in honor of the iconic political leader who, while alive, also raised an army of committed and selfless leaders who are already following in her footsteps.
The Homegoing program, put together in honor of the legendary leader, also notes that after the interment on Saturday, December 14, 2024, there would be a Repost at Bethany Baptist Church, 275 W Market Street, Newark, NJ 07103.
From all over New Jersey and far beyond, the Who-is-Who from every sector, especially politics and civil rights, are expected to participate in the historic Homegoing program of the departed Matriarch, heroine and role model, who will be remembered for a long time to come, both in Africa where she touched many lives, and in the USA where her legacy will surely live on.
