Members of the Steering Committee of the National Association of Nigerians in United States of America, NANUSA, Saturday, participated actively in the parade to celebrate the 59th Independence Anniversary of their fatherland in New York, United States of America, US.
They were not, however, out enjoying the fun of the day like most other nationals who turned out to celebrate Nigeria, but were busy working hard to advance the interest of their country and her people at another level.
They were seriously engaged at the stands erected for mobilization of their country men and women towards the licensing of the proposed National Federal Credit Union, a community bank targeted at servicing Nigerians in the US.
Led by the Chairman of the Steering Committee, Dr. Kazeem Bello, the Secretary, Dr. Eunice Ukwuani and Dr. Orji, the mobilization effort, actively supported by Nigeria’s Consul General, Ambassador Ben Okoyen and other officials of the Consulate, yielded very positive results.
The mobilization effort is still gathering steam and Nigerians, all over the US are being encouraged to make themselves available to append their signatures in support of the initiative wherever they meet the very mobile Enrollment teams or register online on the NANUSA website.
