Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, the wife of Nigeria’s President-elect, has assured Nigerians of the incoming government’s commitment to the development of children.
According to her, in a statement released to mark this year’s International Children’s Day on May 27, “Education is going to be the main focus of the incoming APC government.”
She further said, “our children are our future and Education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country.”
Mrs Buhari also called for the speedy implementation of the Child Rights Act which has been passed by the National Assembly, but is yet to be adopted by several states.
The wife of the President-elect also assured Nigerians that the administration would eradicate the menace of insecurity all over the country and restore normalcy in the north east zone with emphasis on encouraging children to return to school and make schools safer.
She extended her best wishes to children all over the country with special reference to the less privileged.
