THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Edo state Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has assured voters in the state that as a local boy born and bred in Edo state he has the capacity to address the challenges facing the state if he gets elected as the governor in September this year.
Addressing supporters at Ward 10 which is home to the famous Igedege No’kao in Benin City, he said he decided to seek election as governor among other reasons to ensure that Edo youths will get jobs while the women get empowered.
The Igedege No’kao is the first story building built in Benin City, the Edo state capital, built by Ize- Iyamu’s great-great grandfather and is in line for listing as a World Heritage site by the United Nations.
“This is my ancestral home. This is where I was born , Igedege No ‘okao- the first story building in Benin City-I am a local boy. I am a home boy. I apologize for asking you to vote for Oshiomhole. Now it is our turn and by the grace of God we will win”.
He apologized to the voters in the ward who have been consistent in supporting him by voting for the party and candidate of his choice every time, adding that he regrets the failure of the Oshiomhole administration in providing jobs for the youths in the locality and across the state.
Promising to reverse this trend, he said, ” one of my first priorities when I take office as governor will be the creation of jobs and empowerment of youths. We will give jobs to our youths and empower our women”.
