Nigerians and friends of Nigeria in the United States of America, US, are expected to turn out en masse for the 59th Independence Day Parade of the country on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in New York City.

According to the flyer announcing the program, the parade starts at 2nd Ave & East 54th St and proceeds to East 44th St from 10 am to 1.30 pm.

Thereafter, there will be a Street Festival starting at 1.30 pm and ending at 5 pm.

Among the attractions of the celebration would be the opportunity for all Nigerians to be able to enrol for the Nigerian Federal Credit Union, NFCU, being championed by the National Association of Nigerians in USA, NANUSA.

NANUSA is putting up a stand at the venue to get Nigerians to enrol in the initiative, which will result in the licensing of a Community Bank to service Nigerians residing in the United States.

The NFCU initiative was endorsed by the Emir of Kano, Royal Highness, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, when he came to New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA.
