Nike unveils Super Eagles’ kits for 2023 AFCON

Sportswear giant, Nike, has revealed the official kits for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The home jersey boasts Nigeria’s signature green and white colors, while the away jersey features a white background with a touch of green. The new kits are inspired by the one used for the 1994 World Cup by the Green Eagles.

The Super Eagles, led by coach Jose Peseiro, are aiming to secure their fourth AFCON title in the upcoming tournament. Drawn in Group A, they will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. The tournament kicks off on January 14, with Nigeria playing their first match against Equatorial Guinea at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

The Super Eagles will then take on Cote d’Ivoire on January 18, in a rematch of the 2013 quarter-final, where Nigeria emerged victorious. They will wrap up the group stage with a match against Guinea-Bissau on January 22. The unveiling of the new kits adds to the excitement as the Super Eagles prepare to compete for continental glory.
