
The leadership and members of the United Progressive Party (UPP) have described Nigeria’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Alhaji Maitama Sule, who died on Monday as a politician’s politician and an embodiment of integrity, nobility and patriotism.
The party, in a statement by its national chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, said it received with shock the news of the death of the foremost Statesman, stressing that his demise is a big loss to the nation he served in various capacities.
The UPP condoled with members of his family and prayed for divine comfort for them, noting that it is consoled by the fact that he lived a fulfilled life as a devout Moslem, diplomat, administrator and orator.
