The children, grand children and great grand children of the Ojedokun Aranmoletioso dynasty of Otu, in Itesiwaju Local Government area of Oyo State, have donated a giant trophy to Baptist Day School in support of sports development in the school and the community at large.
Representatives of the family, while handing over the trophy to management of the school, said the gesture was in keeping with the legacy of selflessness, philanthropy and commitment to development for which the Ojedokun Aranmoletioso dynasty is known.
The family representatives explained that the trophy was a replacement for the old trophy, and that it was aimed at preserving the good legacy of the progenitors of Ojedokun dynasty. Pa Joseph Ojedokun of blessed memory was one of the four patriarchs and heroes of Christian faith whose names were immortalised by naming the school’s sport houses after them. The other three are Owolabi, Akande and Olaegbe.
While acknowledging that the needs of the aged school were numerous, the family gave assurance that it would further assist the school in other areas possible, in due course.
The management of the school thanked the Ojedokun family for the support, and solicited more assistance on the rehabilitation of dilapidated infrastructure such as buildings, classrooms, furniture and rest rooms among others.
The school leadership also called on sons and daughters from the town, and in particular all former products both at home and in the Diasporas, to come to the assistance of their alma mater.
