Onyeama donates educational materials to orphanage; Inaugurates classroom blocks

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, on Saturday donated educational materials to the Heart of Love Children Foundation Orphanage in Enugu State.
Presenting the items at the orphanage located at Ebe in Udi Local Government Area, Onyeama said that the gesture was to contribute to the welfare of the children.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the level of care being given to the children at the orphanage and thanked its management for the humanitarian service.
Onyeama said that he would use his remaining three months in office to regularly visit the orphanage.
He said that he had established a Foundation, where indigent students were offered scholarships.
He advised children in the orphanage to have hope of a bright future.
NAN reports that the donated materials include schoolbags, lunch packs, books, biros and pencils.
Responding, the Coordinator of the home, Mr. Emmanuel Erude, applauded the Minister for the kind gesture.
Erude said that the orphanage was committed to charity.
In another development, the Minister inaugurated two classroom blocks at Hillside Primary School in Udi.
The structures were reconstructed by the Federal Government.
In her address of welcome, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Mary Nebo, thanked the Minister for attracting the attention of the Federal Government to the school.
Nebo said that the two blocks had six classrooms each.
She said that the renovation would improve teaching and learning.
