Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi was among dignitaries that graced Monday’s unveiling of Senator Chris Anyanwu’s book, BOLD LEAP.
Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State in an X (formerly Twitter) post hailed the book as “remarkable,” noting that Anyanwu’s “journey from journalism to politics embodies resilience and a resolute commitment to democracy, human rights, and social justice.”
He said “it was inspiring to celebrate her multifaceted contributions with esteemed guests and dignitaries while reflecting on her legacy, which continues to inspire future generations of leaders.”
Mr. Obi, later, had a meeting with a team from the California State University, Sacramento, led by the institution’s youngest leader since the inception of the University, President J. Luke Wood.
Obi said he discussed education, inclusion and shared strategies for progress with Dr. Wood, Dr. Mrs. Wood, and the Sacramento State team, noting that President Wood “has demonstrated exceptional leadership in promoting inclusion, fostering internationalization, and advancing peace and conflict resolution.”
He stressed that “education remains a cornerstone of my vision for Nigeria’s growth and development. My experience as Governor has shown the transformative power of prioritizing education, and I believe collaborations like this can reshape Nigeria’s educational landscape, thereby ensuring our nation assumes its rightful place globally.
