Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate for the 2023 general elections has expressed shock at the brutal killing of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the Party’s Women Leader in Kaura, Kaduna State.
Mr. Obi, in a tweet, stressed that such senseless loss of innocent lives across the country was why he must prioritize the war against insecurity as his first task in office as President of Nigeria.
This is as there has been outrage across the country concerning the murder of Mrs. Chintex by as yet unidentified gunmen, with several people linking her death to her political activism and strong support for the Peter Obi/Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed Presidential ticket.
Baba-Ahmed is from Kaduna State and the Labour Party is said to be rapidly gaining ground in the state.
Mr. Obi, in his tweet, said: “I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet to be identified gunmen. Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.”
Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, said further: “Her killing, and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why I must prioritize the war against insecurity as my first task in office. We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise.
“May the soul of Late Mrs. Victoria Chintex rest in perfect peace. My sincere condolence to her family. –PO.”
