The “Tribes of Africa” exhibition is open at the D31 Art Gallery in Doncaster and will close on Sunday, November 21, 2021 while the “20 Historical Women” exhibition is open at Danum Museum, also in Doncaster and will be open till January 2022.
The “20 Historical Women,” exhibition, according to the Chinwe Russell Gallery, “is a bold, colourful, educational and historically inspired body of works which gives an insight into the lives of some incredible women from around the world whose works in different sectors have had a massive impact on the contemporary world and continues to do so.”
Some of these women include well known, as well as the less well known, figures like Marie Curie, Queen Elizabeth the First, Stephanie Kwolek, Dr. Mary Maynard Daly, Gerty Cori and Nwanyeruwa.
The “Tribes of Africa” exhibition, the Obowo, Imo State-born daughter of late Justice Gerald Ibe, said in a statement, however, takes people “on an incredible journey through Africa where you will meet some of the most amazing indigenous tribes who call this continent home.
“From the more well known Maasai and Zulu tribes to the lesser known Nyakyusa and Ndebele tribes, passing through the Omo valley, home to the most incredible people on the planet.”
The works on display, which are done in a style unique to the artist, are worth seeing and collecting. Connoisseurs are already flocking to the exhibitions which should be patronized by all, Nigerians, Africans and, indeed, all lovers of excellent art world-wide.
Here are some pictures from the exhibitions.
