President Buhari seeks Senate’s approval of 15 Special Advisers; Receives Aremo Osoba

President Buhari receives in audience Former Governor of Ogun State Chief Olusegun Osoba in State House on 10th July 2019


President Muhammadu Buhari has submitted to the Senate a request for the appointment of Special Advisers.

Citing section 151 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended which confers on him the power to appoint Special Advisers to assist him in the performance of his functions, the President requested the kind consideration of the distinguished Senators to appoint 15 Special Advisers.

The request is expected to be read tomorrow at plenary.

Also at plenary, the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, hinted at the possibility of the President sending his ministerial list to the Senate this week. He said the executive arm of government was working round the clock towards ensuring that the Senate gets the ministerial list before the end of the week.

President Buhari, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, also received in audience, former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba in the State House.

Aremo Osoba turned 80 and is celebrating the landmark birthday with the launch of a book, “Battlelines: Adventures in Journalism and Politics,” which was publicly presented in Lagos on Monday, July 8, 2019 by an array of distinguished personalities, including Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, former military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun States..

Aremo Osoba, expectedly, presented the book to President Buhari.
