More trouble for Wike, as PDP expels him, Anyanwu, Fayose, others for anti-party activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, along with factional national secretary, Samuel Anyanwu and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose.

Their removal was approved at the PDP National Convention taking place in Ibadan. The decision followed a motion moved by party elder Chief Bode George and seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed. Delegates at the convention unanimously supported the motion.

According to party leaders, the affected members were expelled for engaging in activities considered harmful to the unity and progress of the PDP.

Others expelled include the National Legal Adviser, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN); Umar Bature; AbdulRahman Mohammed; Mao Ohuabunwa; George Turner; Austin Nwachukwu; Abraham Ammah; and Dan Orbih.

The announcement marks one of the most significant disciplinary actions taken by the party in recent years, as it seeks to reposition itself ahead of future political battles.

More details are expected to emerge from the convention in the coming hours.
