PTL Connect, a special professional counseling outfit of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Dominion Cathedral, has taken off on a very successful note.
Inaugurated on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Church’s premises on 180 Main Street, Orange, New Jersey, NJ 07050, the platform, according to the visioner, the Senior Pastor in charge of the Church, Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, is designed to help people to find purpose even in the trauma of life; to transform people to fulfill purpose and not to suffer in silence; to cherish the life of God in us and to empower people to connect with the power and peace of God.
The inauguration, coming in February, which has, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, been declared the Month of Sound Health by Pastor Laoye, who is also the Assistant Pastor –in-Charge of Region, RCCG North America, and Pastor-in-charge of Province, Dominion Cathedral, is also meant to ensure psychological and emotional sound health for all.
She stated that until you are healthy in your mind, you cannot be healthy in your body, stressing that the “Devil takes in your mind. Therefore, overcoming battles of our mind is important.”
She pointed out that the solutions to the challenges of life are in the Word of God – “Confess it, Declare it, Speak it, Meditate on it, Believe it” – she counseled at the well attended inauguration ceremony.
The core beliefs of PTLConnect include that your circumstances, situations or problems must not define who you are; that nothing must steal your life; that you must chose peace, chose joy and chose to live; that you must believe God to locate, loose and lift you up from the deadly impact of the problems of life and very importantly, that you must believe God’s counsel in Deuteronomy 30:15-19; and the timeless truth of Ecclesiastes 1:9.
Activities of the outfit, membership of which is open to people of all ages and races include a Book Club, Quarterly Fellowship, One-on-One counseling sessions and Questionnaires.
Pastor Laoye said that it is necessary to acknowledge that traumas and toxicity are real (Jn. 14:1), noting that their impact must be confronted. “Face it so you can heal from it. Don’t neglect it or run away from it. Be honest about it. Get out of denials and get out of cultural deceptions and traps,” she counseled, stressing that those affected must “arise from depression, doubt and deceit (and) never surrender to hopelessness.”
