The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, New Jersey, United States of America, US, recently celebrated love as couples from the Church were treated to an evening of delicious meals, excellent music, and vintage jokes.
The couples were also given an opportunity to dance and relive their earlier years and rekindle love at the Valentine Dinner held at the Gran Centurion, 440 Madison Hill Road, Clark, NJ 0706.
The Senior Pastor of the Church, Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, also used the opportunity of the event, excellently put together by the Deacon Godin Nwako-led Dominion Events & Tours, to release some vintage tonics or tips for sweeter marriage.
Pastor Laoye, who pointed out that marriage, usually, is not a bed of roses, stressed that though storms may arise along the way, love would always calm the storms.
She then released the “Six Cs” of more enduring relationships.
They are:
- Celebrate yourselves – compliment each other; never go into loveless relationships
- Care for each other
- Connect to each others emotions
- Commit to forgive and forget (tear diaries of offences)
- Concentrate on each other (even when you have children; look good for each other; loose weight if necessary and package yourself very well for each other)
- Contribute to the relationship.
It was, indeed, a memorable evening, with some of the men taught or reminded of how to hold their wives, how to walk with their wives, etc etc etc!!!! (Please click on pictures for full view).
