RCCG’s 2024 Annual Convention ends on glorious note of Thanksgiving to God

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) ended its 2024 Annual Convention with the theme HEAVEN on Sunday, August 11, 2024, with the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye thanking God for not allowing the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests to disrupt the hugely well attended programme.

The Convention started on Monday August 5, 2024, in the middle of the protests that started on August 1 and ended on August 10. But worshippers, who started arriving the Redemption City of God from all over the world before the protest started were not deterred by upheavals.

And by day two of the Convention when Pastor Adeboye ministered on “As Pure As Light,” the old Auditorium of the Redemption City of God on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway was already fast filling up and events had started taking place in earnest.

Pastor Adeboye ministered on “Sanctification” on Day 3, there was a Service of Songs, Melodies, a Deliverance Service and the Holy Ghost Service Night on Friday, August 9, 2024. By Friday night, both the old and new Auditoriums were filled to capacity and this was most evident at the end of the G.O’s ministration, when it was time for the worshippers to switch on and wave their smart phone lights.

On Saturday, there was the Holy Communion and Anointing Service for divine healing, divine health and empowerment, and a commitment of no more compromise by worshippers.

The final day of the Convention, Sunday, August 11, was prize-giving day for winners in different categories as well as for the ordination of Honorary Elders and more than 2000 full Pastors of the Church, before the Word and Thanksgiving Service.

There were spectacular testimonies of the faithfulness of God at the Convention, which also witnessed, among other activities, the ordination of Deacons, Deaconesses and Assistant Pastors.

To confirm that God has greater miracles in stock for the mega church and its members worldwide, the G.O announced the themes for the 2024 Holy Ghost Congress (Onward Christian Soldiers), and the Convention of 2025 (the Overcomers).
