General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye celebrated 40 years of his headship of the Church on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the United States of America, USA.
Pastor Adeboye took over the mantle of leadership of the RCCG from the founder of the Church, Rev. Josiah Akindayomi, in 1981 and the RCCG in the Americas rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the faithfulness of God in the lives of the iconic leader and his wife, Mummy G.O, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye.
Led by the Continental Overseer, RCCG-The Americas, Pastor James Fadel and his wife, the glorious program was kicked off with opening prayers by Pastor Ade Okorende, Assistant Continental Overseer, RCCG-The Americas.
There was welcome by Pastor Bayo Adewole, Assistant Continental Overseer, RCCG-The Americas, while Pastor Femi Olawale, Deputy Continental Overseer, RCCG-The Americas also thanked God for the impactful life and ministry of the General Overseer.
Pastor Fadel and Pastor (Mrs.) Manita Fadel then took turns to vividly capture Pastor Adeboye’s four decades of Holy Spirit inspired exploits.
Pastor Fadel noted that since the G.O’s appointment 40 years ago, the RCCG has experienced great expansion, phenomenal growth in every area, including education, training of ministers and leaders in sound doctrine, discipleship and holiness.
He stressed that there have been such major milestones as the institution of of the Holy Ghost Services, the establishment of model parishes all over the world, foundational training and discipleship through the setting up of the School of Disciples (SOD), Christ the Redeemers Ministries (CRM), the Bible College and the Holy Ghost Congress which took root from ground breaking Lekki 97.
Pastor Fadel pointed out that from 40 parishes that Pastor Adeboye inherited 40 years ago, the Church now has presence in over 190 nations and territories of the world.
Pastor Mrs.) Fadel stressed how Pastor (Mrs.) Adeboye has been a blessing to many in the 40 years of her service to God as Mother-in-Israel, the wife of the General Overseer, including through empowerment of women, especially using women only conferences at national and international levels, such as Feast of Esther and Women In Ministry conferences.
She pointed out the many Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives championed by Pastor (Mrs.) Adeboye, including through the African Missions of RCCG and went on to list community infrastructural facilities put in place to include schools, vocational institutions, medical facilities, maternity homes, wells and boreholes, rods, electricity and child care services.
These have been put in place all over the world, especially in remote rural communities for the benefit of the less privileged, Pastor (Mrs.) Fadel confirmed.
The celebration program that was spiced with praise and worship sessions also witnessed the cutting of an anniversary cake presented by the Church worldwide represented by the RCCG in the Americas.
Pastor Adeboye and his wife prayed for the Pastors and the Church before Pastor Bayo Adeyokunnu, Assistant Continental Overseer, RCCG-The Americas said the closing prayers and Pastor (Mrs.) Omo Ghandi, Special Assistant to the Continental Overseer, RCCG-The Americas rounded off the glorious celebration of a ministry marked by universally acclaimed humility, holiness, sacrificial service and manifestations of the awesome power of the Holy Ghost.
