Rivers’ ADP supporters jubiliate over Tribunal’s order on INEC documents …INEC to be cross-examined Thursday

It was all joy and jubilation for the supporters of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Rivers State chapter as the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal not only ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to produce the press releases where it stated that there was widespread disruption of the election conducted on the 9th of March, 2019 and that violence occurred in a substantial number of polling units and collation centres in the state, but also directed that the INEC official in charge should appear on Thursday July 18 to testify about the documents.

It would be recalled that the ADP had been battling in the Tribunal for the production of the documents and to serve the INEC official with substituted service of subpoena ‘Duces Tecum’, which requires services to be served on Mr. Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voters Education Committee of INEC, in the manner of pasting the process on the gate at the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), at its office along Aba road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
