Peter Obi: Nigeria is lamenting loss of values people like Chris Ogunbajo stood for

Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate in the February 25, 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has commiserated with the Ogunbajo family of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State and Nigerians in general over the demise of legal luminary, Chief Christopher Oladipo Ogunbajo.
In a message on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Mr. Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, said that with the passage of Pa Ogunbajo, the country is “witnessing the exit of a generation that laid the foundations of our greatness as a nation.”
He regretted, however, that “Our present lament is the loss of the values they stood for.”
Obi stressed that Oguunbajo, “a very distinguished Nigerian,” who passed on aged 99 years, “will be remembered largely for the discipline and professionalism he brought into his business life,” noting that “through his commercial law firm, Chris Ogunbanjo & co, he trained many successful lawyers in the Nigerian legal practice.”
He also pointed out that “as a renowned businessman, he (Ogunbajo) saw the growth of many businesses that greatly impacted positively on Nigeria’s overall economic development,” and prayed that God would bless the soul of the departed corporate lawyer, businessman and philanthropist, and the souls of those departed like him and “endow our nation with illustrious successors in the years ahead.”
