2023: I’ll remove Nigeria from 3rd world countries – PDP presidential aspirant, Ohuabunwa

Mr Sam Ohuabunwa, a former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Neimeth Pharmaceutical plc and PDP presidential aspirant, has pledged to remove Nigeria from third world countries if elected in 2023.

Ohuabunwa made the promise while interacting with PDP delegates in Lagos State.

According to him, his interest in the presidential race is to rescue Nigeria and position her in a competitive state with developed countries.

Ohuabunwa said: “I have decided to run the presidential race to lead Nigeria   to her destination.

“My dream all the while is to have a global competitive country that will be first world and cease from being referred to as third world.

“We have been in third world position for a very long time. We are interested in starting a nation that will be strengthened as one Nigeria, that we will be happy to belong to, a nation that is globally competitive.

He said that his passion for Nigeria necessitated his advocacy groups including the New Nigeria Group, which he said, had branches in all the 36 states of the federation.

“To run the country successfully requires good ideas and I have those ideas,” he added.

On his chances, the aspirant expressed optimism.

Ohuabunwa urged the party not to toy with zoning of presidential position, saying “any attempt not to respect the zoning arrangement will bear serious consequences.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 71-year- old Ohuabunwa is a Nigerian pharmacist, politician and business executive.

He is also the former president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria

PDP has fixed May 28 and 29 for its presidential primaries.
