School eyecare program berths in Akwa Ibom as part of events to mark 2022 World Sight Day  

– 100 people to get free glasses, comprehensive tests, medication courtesy of Nathels Eye Clinic, partners.

Merilebon Academy, Uyo was venue for the berthing of a ‘School Eyecare program’ on Tuesday October 11, 2022.

The School Eyecare Program is part of 3-days of activities to mark the 2022 World Sight Day and afforded the pupils, students and teachers of Merilebon Academy opportunity to receive health talks plus Eye screening services by a team led by Dr Doris Anoliefo Essiet of Natels Eye Clinic, Iboko street, Uyo.

In her summary of the day’s visit, Dr Doris Essiet wrote on her Facebook handle:

“Day one of our 3-days #Worldsightday program saw us giving School Eye Health Talk to the pupils and Eye Screening to the teachers of one of the most prestigious schools in Akwa Ibom State, Merilebon Academy.

“It was a rewarding time spent with kids and the questions I was asked showed me that these kids love their eyes.

“School Eyecare is a program that should be embraced by both Govt and private school owners.

“Having good vision greatly impacts the learning capabilities of our children. I am glad that many schools and parents are now embracing this and opening their doors to quality eye care.” She concluded.

As part of their corporate social responsibility, Nathel Eye Clinic and Eye Spa in collaboration with Eye Doctor on Radio and Doctors United for Good Vision will also be offering FREE glasses, medications and comprehensive tests to 100 people on Thursday October 13, 2022.

Information put forward by the foremost Eye Clinic indicates that the free services will be delivered on a first come, first served basis on October 13, at Nathels Eye Clinic 65, Iboko street, Uyo to mark the 2022 World Sight Day.
