Senate: Lawal Yahaya Gumau emerges APC candidate ahead of bye-election in Bauchi

Lawal Yahaya Gumau has emerged the candidate of the APC for ‎the forthcoming Bauchi South Senatorial district by-election.

Gumau who is currently the member representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, got 847 votes to defeat five other aspirants including Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo who scored 776 votes.

However, one of the aspirants, Aminu Tukur, the member representing Lere/Bula Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly withdrew from the contest.

Similarly, Barrister Hussaini Umar has won the ticket of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Barrister Hussaini was the only aspirant who indicated interest to vie for the seat in the party.
