Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Sir Jude Ejiogu has commiserated with the family of High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku, Publisher of Nigerian Horn Newspapers and Chairman, Independent Newspaper Publishers’ Association (Imo State Chapter) over the death of his father, Elder John Ifeanyi Njoku who died at the age of 68.
Sir Ejiogu, while on a condolence visit to High Chief Bright Njoku at the corporate office of the Nigerian Horn Newspapers in Owerri, expressed regret that Late Elder Njoku died when his wealth of experience and fatherly care were mostly needed by his children and the state at large.
According to Sir Ejiogu, members of late Elder Njoku’s family should focus on the fact that their Patriarch gave birth to a man of character who controls one of the most vibrant and objective newspapers in Nigeria, appealing to them to take solace in the Lord. He also prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding, High Chief Njoku expressed surprise that despite the tight schedule of Sir Ejiogu, he still found time to come to sympathize with him and his family, describing his action as a show of love.
High Chief Njoku, while commending the SGI for the gesture maintained that his decision to come in person to sympathize with members of his family had reassured him that some public office holders are humane and genuine.
