Six secondary schools battle for the maiden SWHF U-16 challenge trophy

Six schools from the South-Western states in Nigeria will battle for the maiden South West Hockey Foundation trophy in Ibadan.

The U-16 challenge trophy is an improved version of the annual GCI Quadrangular Hockey Competition to accommodate all the states in the region.

Government College, Ibadan, who are the 2016, 2017 champions of the GCI Quadrangular Hockey Competition will represent Oyo State.

Nawardeen Secondary School, Obantoko, will represent Ogun State, Okemagba Junior High School, Epe, will represent Lagos State.

Ado Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, will represent Ekiti State, Aquinas College, Akure, will represent Ondo State, while St Mark Commercial Grammar School, Osogbo, will represent Osun State.

The tournament is scheduled for Wednesday 21st of November to Saturday 24th of November, 2018 inside the main bowl of Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Matches will commence on Thursday 22nd November by 9.00am till Saturday.

The U-16 challenge trophy is sponsored by the Board of Trustees of South West Hockey Foundation.

The Board of Trustees will provide free accommodation; free feeding; free tournament registration fee and free transportation to and fro from the games village to the pitch for all the participating teams.
