To reach the quarterfinal, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria defeated tournament hosts Argentina by two unreplied goals in the round of 16 on Wednesday May 31.
Goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Haliru Sarki for Nigeria in the second half left Argentina stunned and out of the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
South Korea on their part battled to a 2-3 victory over Ecuador on Thursday night.

The quarter-final clash between Nigeria and Ecuador will take place on Sunday June 4, 2023. The winner of that match will face either Colombia or Italy in the Semi-final.
Other quarter-final fixtures of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup will see Isreal face Brazil while USA and Uruguay face-off in the other last-8 clash.
