Ibadan Grammar School Old Students’ Association North America Convention 2023 holds in New Jersey, USA
Ibadan Grammar School Old Students’ Association North America (IGSOSANA) is shaking up New Jersey, United States of America (USA) this weekend as it holds its 16th Convention, Fundraising and Thanksgiving program.
The four-day event, which started yesterday, August 31, 2023 with the arrival of members of the Association from different parts of the US and beyond, at Embassy Suites, Newark Airport, International Blvd, Elizabeth New Jersey, will be rounded off on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
The program will feature exciting activities including a Meet and Greet session, OBU Night, a City Tour and a Gala Night.
The highly anticipated Gala Night will take place tomorrow, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Banquet Centre, 645 Roosevelt Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey 07008.
The Gala Night is open to family members, friends and associates of the old students of the 110 year-old school that has produced eminent men and women who are excelling in different spheres of life all around the world.
The objective of the Fund Raising segment of the Convention is to continue with the drive of the old students to make the school “a center of excellence in science education in Nigeria.” Their target is to make Ibadan Grammar School “academically strong and one of the top 50 schools in the country.”
The top priority of the old students is to “rebuild, renovate and maintain the Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Agriculture laboratories” of the school while “exposing students to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) and giving them opportunities to explore STEAM-related concepts and develop a passion for it.”
Their noble objectives are expected to be strongly supported by their members as well as their relatives, friends and associates from all over the world, especially those who would be attending the Gala Night that would feature plenty of delicious foods, great music and dancing.
The organizers have assured that the Gala Night event would be a night to remember for good for a long to come and are, therefore inviting all to be part of the great event.
