Vice Chancellor of Dominican University Ibadan, Nigeria, Professor Jacinta A. Opara on Saturday, July 20, celebrated former first lady of Ondo State, Chief (Mrs.) Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu as she marked her birthday same day.
Professor Opara, in her birthday message, said that she has had the privilege of witnessing first hand, the unwavering determination, boundless compassion, and extraordinary ability of Chief (Mrs.) Anyanwu-Akeredolu to inspire everyone around her.
She said that the journey of the former first lady, who she described as accomplished and a wonderful person, “has been nothing short of inspirational.”
Professor Opara said of Chief (Mrs.) Anyanwu-Akeredolu: “From your early days filled with dreams and aspirations to the heights of excellence and leadership you have reached today, you have always remained true to yourself and your values. Your dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others is a testament to your generous spirit and your deep commitment to service.
“As you reflect on another year of accomplishments and experiences, may you find joy in the Lord we serve, strength in the challenges you have overcome, and excitement in the possibilities that lie ahead. You are not only my sister but also a role model and a source of constant inspiration to me and countless others. You are a strong woman, who does not put women down. You lift them up. You will also be remembered for your legacy as a feminist, gender activist and founder of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria.”
The Vice Chancellor wished Chief (Mrs.) Anyanwu-Akeredolu, a former senatorial aspirant, good health, more successes in life, happiness, fulfilment, love, laughter and the warmth of those who cherish her, Ada Emeabiam (great daughter of Emeabiam).
