Brian Ballard, owner of Ballard Partners

Following the expiration of his public service role under the ex-President Muhammadu Buhari regime, Lai Mohammed has been given a new appointment, this time in the private sector.

The new appointment will see Mohammed serve as the managing partner for the Abuja office of Ballard Partners, and oversee the firm’s satellite office in Lagos, the nation’s financial center.

The appointment of Mohammed comes less than a week after the dissolution of ex-President Buhari’s cabinet and was confirmed in a statement issued on their official Twitter page on Tuesday June 6.

In the statement, Ballard, which prides itself as an organisation that “helps its clients navigate complex political and governmental matters,” hailed Mohammed’s extensive experience in public service as reason for his appointment.

On his part Brian Ballard, the president and founder of Ballard Partners, appreciated Mohammed for joining the firm and praised his outstanding reputation and exceptional experience. Brian noted that opening an office in Nigeria expands the firm’s international presence to three continents and builds upon their work on behalf of African nations and companies.

Having held the position of Minister of Information and Culture for eight years, acting as the spokesperson, reputation manager, and information management strategist for the outgone Nigerian Government, the new appointment sees Lai Mohammed switch to private service.

In reaction to the appointment, Lau Mohammed expressed his delight at joining Ballard Partners and the opportunity to head the company’s first office in Africa.

He eulogized the firm’s international reputation and success in representing African countries and American firms in the continent.

Mohammed acknowledged the significant opportunities in Nigeria and stated his commitment to helping Ballard Partners’ clients achieve their objectives in the country.
