Zee World treated media guest at the MultiChoice Content Showcase in Mauritius to a gastronomic journey of Indian cuisine before launching into a discussion about its dynamic channel that has been customized for mainstream audiences in Africa.
Earlier this year, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), one of India’s leading television, media and entertainment companies launched this exciting new television channel. Since then, the channel has offered Africa an extraordinary world of entertainment, and is the first of its kind showcasing Bollywood movies, series, reality and food shows and will be adding much more action packed content.
Zee World has a strong worldwide presence, boasting over 33 channels which entertain 960 million viewers across 169 countries. Pioneers of television entertainment industry in India, ZEEL’s well-known international brands include Zee TV, &TV, Zee Cinema, Zing, Zee Punjabi, Zee Khana Khazana and Zee Living amongst others.
ZEEL first ventured into Africa 18 years ago as the brands first international territory and its widely acclaimed flagship channel ZEE TV has been present on the DStv platform since 1996 and Canal Plus since 2006.
“ZEE WORLD is the first offering from ZEE for mainstream viewers in Africa. We will be launching another channel for our French audiences in Francophone Africa before end of this year with more channels scheduled for launch next year,” announced Mr. Harish Goyal – CEO ZEE TV AFRICAS.
All content on the channel has undergone extensive research and customization, including editing and dubbing. The content research is a continuous process for all upcoming shows in future on Zee World.
Zee World has award-winning shows like Saloni, Laali, The Promise and Destiny with a wide collection of star studded blockbuster Bollywood movies. The channel also has other genres such as food, reality and will be adding health shows and other world series soon.
The channel has dramatic and thrilling content which is available on DStv on channel 166 and GOtv Plus channel 25.
