Tinubu, Atiku, Obi: Supreme Court delivers judgement in Presidential Election Petitions tomorrow

Thursday, October 26, 2023, according to reports, will be judgement day in Nigeria as the Supreme Court of Nigeria will, most things being equal, deliver judgement on the appeals filed against the election of President Bola Tinubu by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and their parties.

A credible source said that the panel of the apex court, which heard the appeals and on Monday reserved judgment on them, will deliver judgement tomorrow.

The third appeal, by the Allied People’s Movement (APM), was withdrawn.

In a subtle confirmation of tomorrow as the day of judgement on the appeals, the Campaign Manager of Mr. Obi of the Labour Party, Dr. Oseloka Obaze said in a tweet:

“‘Indeed, tomorrow is the judgment day for NIGERIA; 26th October, 2023 will assume an important place in the annals of the history of Nigeria: For Good or For Bad. The Die is Cast!’

“If tomorrow is judgment day
And I’m standing on the front line; And the Lord asks me what I did with my life ..??
I will say I spent it Fighting to make sure a New Nigeria is POssible. What will other Nigerians say; If tomorrow comes and If Tomorrow is the Judgment Day!

“No matter who we are or where we live, the #RuleOfLaw affects us all. It is the foundation for communities of justice, opportunity, and peace—underpinning development, accountable government, and respect for fundamental rights.”

“Having frittered away seminal opportunities of infinite possibilities, my advice to the Nigerian Judiciary in order to redeem what little honour they have left is this: “Carpe diem. Seize the day, Lords; Make your lives extraordinary.” Uphold the Constitution, any which way!”
