2023 CRS Governorship Election: Group solicits support for PDP Candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rebirth Group in Cross River State, has called on the people of the State to come out en mass to vote for the candidate of the People Democratic party (PDP), Senator Sandy Ojang Onor and his Deputy, Lady Emana Duke in the March 18, 2023, Governorship Election in the State.
The National Coordinator of REBIRTH Group Nigeria, High Chief Nelson Obono Ofem, made the call while addressing some journalists at the end of the Third Annual Congress of the group held in Calabar, Cross River State capital.
High Chief Nelson said the call was imperative because Senator Sandy Ojang Onor is the only Governorship Candidate in the State with the capacity, tenacity of purpose, sagacity and all what it takes to take Cross River State to the promised land having been tested from the Grassroots, State and National Levels.
He explained that as a former Local Government Chairman of Etung, former, Chairman of Chairmen ALGON in the State, former Deputy National Chairman of ALGON, and Acting National Chairman, ALGON, as well as former Chairman, Cross River State Local Government Service Commission, former Member of the National Conference and former Commissioner for Agriculture and Commissioner for Environment in the State, at various times, Senator Sandy Onor has the required experience to take the State to greater heights if elected governor on March 18.
He added that, since “he was elected as the Senator representing Central Senatorial District in the State, the PDP Governorship Candidate has demonstrated his ability to provide his constituents with effective representation at the Senate.”
According to High Chief Ofem, “because of his legislative prowess, Senator Onor was appointed by the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan as the Orator of the 9th Senate and Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary lnstitutions and Tetfund, even when he was a first timer in the Senate.”
The National Coordinator of PDP REBIRTH Group also stated that, “following his trajectory, Senator Sandy Ojang Onor should be given the destiny of the State come Saturday, March 18, 2023.”
High Chief Ofem, who was a Senior Special Assistant to the Cross River State Governor on Lime Stones Projects and the Obol kokolo 1. of Yakurr Kingdom, stressed that Senator Sandy Ojang Onor and Lady Emana Duke remain the most dependable option for a greater Cross River State.
The former House of Assembly aspirant for Yakurr 1 State Constituency and the immediate past Secretary of the Cross River State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government Screening Committee, also stated that, “the Peoples Democratic party’s Governorship Candidate should be voted for as the Governor of Cross River State to enable him bring all his experiences to bear.”
“Senator Sandy Ojang Onor has done well in his representation at the Senate with the provisions of infrastructural development and other Social amenities to the good people of Cross River State and Central Senatorial District,” High Chief Ofem, stated.
High Chief Ofem, who is also the winner of the 2019 Yakurr Highest Farmer of the Year (Ledu Yam) title in Yakurr Local Government Area of the State further advised Cross Riverians “to vote for a man of the people, who has what it takes to take the people’s Paradise State to the Eldorado of prosperity, having been tested and trusted from Local Government to the State and the National levels.”
