2023: Osinbajo hosts APC Governors to dinner; Declares presidential ambition after meeting

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has commenced the process of declaring his presidential ambition with a dinner Sunday night with All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, mostly from the Northern part of the country at his residence in the Villa.
A source within the Presidential Complex told Global Patriot Newspapers (GPN) that the meeting, which also involved some other Governors from other geo-political zones of the country, went “excellently well” and will be followed by the official public declaration of Prof. Osinbajo’s entrance into the presidential race.
Speculations concerning the Vice President’s intention to run the race for the ticket of the APC to fly the flag of the party in the presidential race have been rife but the Aso Villa source, which had last week confirmed to GPN that the date for the Vice President’s declaration was a matter of days away, insisted that after the Sunday night dinner meeting with the Governors, which marked the breaking of the fast for the day for the Moslems, Professor Osinbajo will thereafter publicly declare his interest in the presidency.
According to the source, the Vice President used the opportunity of the meeting to strive to secure the buy-in of the Governors, noting that with the backing of the majority of the APC Governors, he (Professor Osinbajo) can now more sure-footedly enter the race for the number one political position in the country.
The source said that “at the meeting, the VP officially informed the APC Governors of his decision to run for President in 2023 under the APC BANNER. Afterwards he would be making a public declaration of his intent to run for the office of the President.”
The APC has already zoned their presidential ticket to the Southern part of the country and some aspirants have already started filing out to declare their ambition to vie for the party’s ticket.
