83rd birthday: RCCG’s Pastor Adeboye celebrated worldwide; Speaks on ‘Greater Tomorrow’

World renowned religious leader and General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, was yesterday, March 2, celebrated globally on the occasion of his 83rd birthday.

The date coincided with the first Sunday of the Month, which is Thanksgiving Sunday in all RCCG Churches worldwide, and there were profuse prayers and thanksgiving to God by members of the Church in different locations worldwide on behalf of Pastor Adeboye, his wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye, their family and the ministry.

Also, to commemorate the birthday of the highly respected Cleric, the 11th Annual Pastor Adeboye Public Lecture took place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, with a legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, as Keynote Speaker. The theme of his seminal Lecture was “Justice and Equity: Solution to Socio-Economic Problems in Nigeria.”

There was also a Medical Outreach where people were offered life saving surgeries, eye care and other health related services free of charge as part of the birthday celebration, which will dovetail into the Special Holy Ghost Service holding from March 6 to 9, 2025 at the Redemption City of God, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Nigeria.

The theme of the Special Holy Ghost Service is “Joy Unspeakable,” and Pastor Adeboye will be ministering at the different sessions of the Service with other Anointed Ministers of God who have already started arriving the Redemption City of God from different parts of the world in order to be part of the Solemn Assembly, an intense prayer and teaching retreat for ministers and workers of the Church that will precede the Special Holy Ghost Service.

On his birthday, Pastor Adeboye ministered at the Thanksgiving Service of the National Headquarters of the Church, RCCG The Throne of Grace in Ebute-Metta, Lagos on the theme, “Greater Tomorrow.” Using the examples of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, he made it clear that the same God who made Abraham great, made his son Isaac greater and his grandson, Jacob exceeding great, in numbers and in other considerations, could do the same for anyone who followed laid down principles.

He said, for instance, that parents must train up their children in the way of the Lord as Abraham did (Gen. 18: 17-19) to guarantee their greater tomorrow (Prov. 22:6); that children must obey and honor their parents (Col. 3: 20; Eph. 6: 1-3) so that they can live long and have a better future; that everyone must learn to sow bountifully so that they can have bountiful harvest tomorrow; and that people must be diligent, as God rewards diligence.

The General Overseer also warned against pride, exhorting all to be humble, pointing out that God resists the proud and assuring, based on the word of God, that those who humble themselves under the mighty hand of God will have a greater tomorrow.

Stressing that the devil is determined to ruin people’s future, as that is its ministry, the cleric exhorted that whoever submitted themselves to God and has Christ in them, will have a greater tomorrow. Citing Isaiah 3:10 and 11, the Cleric made it clear that it is easy to figure out who would have a greater tomorrow and who would have a doomed future and at end of his virtual ministration, a crowd of people surrendered their lives to Christ, when he made the altar call.

The Special Holy Ghost Service for this year, which will hold in the midst of the 100 days’ fasting and prayer programme being currently observed by the Church, will feature intense prayers, high praises, worship sessions, a Holy Communion, deliverance night, the Friday Holy Ghost Service, and the thanksgiving service that would round off the programme on Sunday, March 9, 2025.

There would be testimonies of the faithfulness of God manifested through miracles, signs and wonders as well as prophetic declarations by the man of God who last Month, had pointed out that the fires and floods being witnessed, especially in the United States of America (USA) were part of the fulfilment of the prophecies he released in the New Year, urging people to always pay heed to his prophetic declarations.

The services would usually be streamed live on the Church’s social media platforms, on dedicated radio and television stations, the Church’s YouTube channel and at viewing centers around the world, for those faraway who cannot be in Nigeria to participate in the programmes onsite.

Everyone is welcome to be part of the Services online and onsite.
