Speaker of Nigeria Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Mubarak Mijinyawa, has expressed optimism that Nigeria can win the fight against corona virus with diligence and prayers.
In a message made available to newsmen in Gombe to commemorate the Muslim festival of Eid-el-Fitr, Mijinyawa called on Nigerians not to loose hope in winning the fight against the pandemic.
According to him, ”As we are advised to maintain social distancing and frequent hygiene, please keep inside you the faith that we are doing this to save humanity and we will get out of this even stronger.”
He said, “We know that this might be difficult for all of us, but remember a time has passed when our great grand parents were enslaved but with hope, patience, commitment and clear focus, they fought for the freedom of our dear country Nigeria”.
He said, as Muslims the world over mark this special season, Nigerians should mark it with fervent prayers, maintain physical distancing, improve personal hygiene and build courage on the ongoing fight against Covid-19.
He particularly admonished Nigerian youths to be rest assured of a regained freedom of movement, a revived and sustainable economy to be driven by small, medium and large scale enterprises, functional educational system among others when sound Government policies are put in place.”
