Wikki Tourists don’t shortchange players’ – Secretary.

Ruth Yarnap, Bauchi
Bauchi state Secretary of ‘Wikki Tourists’ football club, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, has debunked the allegation that the management shortchanges the club’s players by deducting their salaries without state government authorisation.
Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim disclosed this to sports men in his office while reacting to an allegation published by an online media based in the state, that suggested that the club illegally deducts the sum of N200, 000 from the salaries of each player that receives N500, 000 monthly.
The Secretary, who explained that Wikki players collect the highest salaries in the country, however pointed out that not all players receive the same amount as salaries in the club.
According to him, the team does not owe any player any salary, adding that the management of the team has no stake in salary payments as players are paid in line with the civil service guidelines of the state.
Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim then assured that the management of the club will continue to motivate players to enhance performance and make the state proud.
According to him, the management has asked the author of the said publication to retract his allegations, threatening that failure to do so would force the team to take legal action against him.
