Seat of Wisdom Catholic Station, Umuokoro Umuariam Obowo, honours Fathers of Faith, women leaders
Friday, January 1, 2021 was a day of joyful celebration at the Seat of Wisdom Station of the Catholic Church, Umuokoro Umuariam Obowo, Imo State Nigeria.
On that special day, members of the Church, their relatives, in-laws, friends and other well-wishers from all over the world, led by the Parish Rector of Queen of Peace Parish, Umuariam, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Cletus Madu and other clergy, came together to celebrate the Heroes (Fathers) of Faith (Nnaokwukwe) as well as give out Awards of Honour to the Life Matron and Mama Ukwu of the Station.
Young men who performed the Iwa Akwa (Wearing Cloth) ceremony or the coming of age ceremony were also prayed for as part of the historic Thanksgiving Service.
The Heroes of Faith, the pioneers, pathfinders, builders, men who labored for the Station and the Church in general, received well deserved Posthumous Awards.
They are late Mr. Charles Korie Simeon (CKS) Ibe, late Elder Moses Okafor Nwaigwe, late Chief Sir Godwin Kingsley Chukwuemeka Iwunze (KSC), late Chief Romanus Odinakachukwu Nwahiri and late Mr. Joseph Johnson Ndukauba.
The Life Matron Award of Honour was conferred on Nneoma Chief Mrs. Matilda Adaocha Ibe while the Award of Mama Ukwu went to Nneoma Annastatia Ada Osuagwu.
The joy filled program also served to reassure all that meritorious service to God and humanity never goes unrewarded.
